About Department

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) at Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering and Shrikrushana S. Dhamankar Institute of Management, Nashik was established in the Academic Year 2021–22 with an initial intake of 60 students. Due to the increasing demand and vast scope in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, the intake capacity was enhanced to 120 students from the Academic Year 2025–26.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is an interdisciplinary field focused on developing intelligent systems capable of learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and data analysis. The department aims to prepare students with advanced technical knowledge and practical skills in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies are transforming industries including healthcare, finance, manufacturing, retail, and research.

The department is equipped with six well-established laboratories, namely Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and IoT laboratories. Modern classrooms and highly configured computer systems provide students with an effective environment for academic learning, research, and project development.
The department is supported by highly qualified and experienced faculty members who guide students in academics, innovation, research activities, and industry-oriented skill development. The overall objective of the department is to develop competent professionals capable of contributing to next-generation intelligent technologies and data-driven solutions.

Program Outcomes

  • PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4)
  • PO3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required. (WK5)
  • PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions.(WK8).
  • PO5: Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6)
  • PO6: The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment. (WK1, WK5, and WK7).

During the visit, students interacted with industry experts, startup founders, and innovation leaders who shared valuable insights into current market trends, Artificial Intelligence, product development, entrepreneurship, and career opportunities. The sessions provided students with an understanding of how innovative ideas are transformed into successful businesses through technology and collaboration.

The visit offered a unique learning experience by combining technical knowledge with entrepreneurial exposure. It enhanced students’ awareness of innovation-driven industries, encouraged creative thinking, and motivated them to explore opportunities in startups, research, and technology-based ventures.
2 2025-2026  R3 Systems India Pvt. Ltd. An industrial visit to R3 Systems India Pvt. Ltd., Nashik was organized on 8th March 2026 for the students of Third Year Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (TE AI&DS). The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the IT industry and familiarize them with current technologies, software development methodologies, and industry practices.

During the visit, students gained valuable insights into real-world software projects, IT infrastructure, and emerging technological trends. Industry experts explained various aspects of software development, project management, and career opportunities in the technology sector. The interactive sessions helped students understand the practical implementation of concepts learned in their academic curriculum.

Ltd., Nashik was organized on 18th September 2025 for the students of the Second Year Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) Department. The main objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the IT industry and enhance their understanding of software development, emerging technologies, and industry practices.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the IT industry and familiarize them with current technologies, software development practices, and industry requirements.

During the visit, students gained insights into real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and software solutions. Industry experts explained various technological concepts, project development processes, and career opportunities in the IT sector.
